Because we weren’t booked anywhere for Easter and didn’t want to take up any extra parking spaces at the church where we sang for Good Friday, we camped out at Givhans Ferry State Park for a few days.
We took a few days off of school and had a forced work break because there was no internet or cell signal.
We did a lot of nothing in particular, including thawing,
playing ladder ball,
eating bubbles (good thing that little girl wears a diaper in case that pooch overshoots his bubble target!),
doing a teeny bit of work,
getting stuck in really high trees,
snacking in the great outdoors after a cold and rainy weekend,
recreating Easter egg hunts…
for this little punkin,
snitching a taste of Marissa’s Rice Krispy treats when nobody was looking,
creating gorgeous Easter accessories,
meeting new friends (who wanted absolutely nothing to do with us),
exploring the park,
discovering this amazing tree,
(pretty neat, eh?)
wandering aimlessly some more,
traversing flooded trails without getting our shoes wet because shoes don’t dry in trailers, and we don’t have extras),
getting stuck between a wet place and a wetter place and turning back,
sweeping the trail,
finding viney trees,
loving the weather,
inspecting ant hills,
enjoying the wide open spaces,
picking clover blossoms,
getting stuck in that “big” tree again,
gaining five pounds from Marissa’s treats,
and getting creative (art by Emily).
What did you do on your Easter break?
